GitHub launches Codespaces for in-browser coding

GitHub recently held its virtual GitHub Satellite event where the Microsoft-owned company announced several new features for its developer platform including Codespaces which allows customers to write code from within their browser.

GitHub Codespaces provides developers with a full cloud-hosted development environment which is based on Microsoft’s VS Code editor. It shares a number of similarities with Microsoft’s recently rebranded Visual Studio Code Online that is now called Visual Studio Codespaces.
