Two Ugandan Headteachers

“All the attending head teachers said they had become much closer in the last year because of relating to each other in the CFA program. They decided they had a lot in common and also had much to learn about their neighbors...They unanimously decided to form an Association.” —Herbert Busiku (31)

African Community Building

Fostering African networking and leadership

CFA incorporates African relationship building into every aspect of its program.

1) We work with leaders to help qualify 24 schools in the area each year. Beneficiaries attend a common information meeting, organize common local transport for the computer labs, and often hold a celebration ceremony together.

2) CFA provides community-wide ICT training where computer teachers from all the schools solve maintenance and repair problems as a team, looking to each other for support.

3) CFA assembles the head teachers of beneficiary schools to learn about the pros and cons of Internet connection. Access to the web will vastly strengthen their ability to maintain communication.

4) Finally, CFA encourages participating schools to continue networking for mutual support. Twice regional schools have formed an official association after working together with CFA.
